Shortcuts are brilliant tools that allow users to undertake numerous actions as quickly and efficiently as possible. In this article, we will outline some of our favourites that we feel can maximise your user experience on Daylite.

 

 

  • Edit – Cmd + E : Allows changes to be made to anything in Daylite

 

  • Sync – Cmd + Option + S : This will update the information in Daylite to the most recent available

 

  • New Daylite Window – Cmd + Option + N : This allows you to have numerous Daylite windows open, for example, one showing your calendar and appointments and another that can be actively used.

 

 

  • Link – Cmd + L : This is a brilliant feature that allows you to link anything in Daylite, this can be people to companies, companies to opportunities etc.

  • New email to current contact – Cmd + Shift + M: Allows for fast communication to be made with the selected contact.

 

  • Search – Cmd + Option + F : The search function is very strong and allows you to search for anything in Daylite.

 

  • Show Daylite PreferencesCmd + , : This will open the Daylite preferences menu where settings can be adjusted.

  • Show list viewCmd + Option + 1 – This toggles the view to list, as shown below.

  • Show multi column viewCmd + Option + 2 – This toggles the view to multi column, as shown below.

  • Show analytics view – Cmd + Option + 3 – This toggles the view to analytics, as shown below.

  • Emojis – Fn + E – This shows the emoji menu. Emojis are compatible with Daylite and can be a great way of labelling groups as well as allowing for fast reference to different areas, as they are quickly recognisable and can be easier to spot than plain text.

  • Show favourites – View → Show Favourites – This will toggle whether the favourites bar is visible at the top of your screen when using Daylite. The favourites bar allows you to navigate to favourited areas with ease. The favourites bar is shown in the image below.

 

  • Quick Task Entry – Option + N – This is a very handy shortcut, that allows you to enter a task to Daylite from anywhere on your device, so long as Daylite is running in the background. For example, if you are browsing the internet and remember a task you need to complete, you can use this shortcut to instantly add it to Daylite.

 

 

  • Daylite Search – Use this shortcut to search Daylite from anywhere on your computer, as long as Daylite is running. To set up this shortcut, open Daylite Settings → General and input a combination of your choice into ‘Daylite search shortcut’. We use ‘Option S’.
