Notes allow users to record and recall important information, whether that be taken whilst in a meeting or just used as a memory bank. Using Daylite, notes can be linked directly to an individual and/or company allowing for easy recall when required.

However, we have noticed that the ability to ‘pin’ an important note to the top of the activity menu is seemingly non existent – as more activities are linked to the individual, the note moves down the menu and items begin to pile on top, making notes difficult to find at times. Especially if you are actively working with the individual or company.

We have found an extremely useful workaround which will allow a desired note to always appear at the top of the activity menu – allowing for extremely easy recall, preventing users from having to scroll and find the note at the time of creation amongst hundreds of other activities.

To do so, the user can date the note in the future. This will mean that the note will always appear above the ‘now’ line and above any new activities created at the current date.

To do this, you ‘add note’ as normal and when the new note menu is shown. Click the date and scroll forward, pick a date in the distant future that is not going to be reached soon. Then save the note as normal.

You will now notice that the note is shown above any other activities, as well as above the ‘now’ line. This note will stay at the top of the menu until either the date it has been set to is reached and activities are created, or another activity is created further into the future.

We have found this to be an extremely useful way of keeping the most important information that we are likely to need to recall in a clear and obvious place that allows us to fetch it quickly and easily.
